Claire Danes has been an actress for as long as she can remember. While she was wowing audiences as a young teenager on "My So-Called Life," Danes recalled a performance she gave more than a decade prior and shared the story on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon."

She said it happened at preschool when she was only three-years old. She wasn't very good at taking naps, but she wanted to impress her instructor. So she decided to pretend she was sleeping. But she did more than close her eyes and lay still. No, that might not be convincing enough.

"I remember that I had observed my mother twitching in her sleep," she said. "So I did these very subtle twitches and I remember thinking, like, that’s good."

Clearly that early start at her craft has served her well. Almost twenty years after "My So-Called Life," Danes is still impressing fans and critics with her work on "Homeland," for which she's been nominated for an Emmy.

"Homeland" returns to Showtime on Sunday, September 30 at 10 p.m. ET. "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" airs weeknights at 12:37 a.m. ET on NBC.
